An inward looking focus serves no long-term interests for any country, said Prime Minister of New Zealand Chris Hipkins at a meeting of the 14th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos Forum, in North China"s Tianjin Municipality on Tuesday.
There is a trend in some parts of the world to be more inward looking, he said.
However, the whole world needs to work together to solve global challenges such as climate change, shifting populations and the nature of population growth changes, he noted.
The whole world is going to have to grapple with that, he said
